What is behavioural balance?

Behavioural balance refers to the right mix of behaviours (relevant to the objectives of the team). When the team's Drives do not align with the team's objectives, behavioural imbalance occurs.

Behavioural inbalance can occurs with each of the Drives

Yellow:
At one end - failure to consider the big picture (the vision) and consequential setting of goals and objectives that eventually do not lead to good outcomes for the organisation, and at the other end - excessive theorising and over complication of issues.
Green:
At one end - failure to effectively communicate, and at the other end - excessive consultation and discussion on everything.
Orange:
At one end - failure to place appropriate attention on results, efficiency, performance and competitive position, and at the other end - excessive opportunism and grabbing every opportunity.
Blue:
At one end - failure to implement or follow appropriate processes, procedures, systems, training and structures, and at the other end - excessive bureaucracy bogging the organisation down in rules and detail.
Red:
At one end - failure to confront inappropriate behaviours, at all levels, and with unions, and at the other end - excessive political play, fighting and turf wars.
Purple:
At one end - failure to understand and engender the allegiance to and alignment of employees goals and passion with the organisation, and at the other end - excessive focus on the past and traditions, and excluding others who are seen as outsiders.
